It’s not that I particularly like making people squirm, but Thomas Pawley‘s face when I said “I want something that will make you and me very excited, but when you talk to other designers about it you’ll have to explain your thought process and choices every. single. time.” still pops into my head occasionally and makes me smile.
But he went with it.
He went with my vehement “I don’t care what colours go together in your world, these go together in mine.” and my “No, it doesn’t clash enough.” and my “Think punk mermaid then dial it up to 11.”
And what I got for the rebrand of Nikki Pilkington SEO and the branding of the non-wanky SEO course is beyond what I ever imagined when I said “I like shocking pink, electric purple, and bright green.”
He even came up with the name of my newsletter SEO f*cking what?
Thomas was brilliant to work with from start to finish, coming up with ideas, never being afraid to go against the ‘norm’, and delivering top notch work over and over again.
I’d recommend Thomas to anyone wanting to develop a brand or redesign a tired brand – he’s awesome. Even though he sometimes still says “You want WHAT?!?” to my design requests.
